Carolina basketball is already going through a tough stretch and adding two feet of snow to the mix hasn’t helped.

The Tar Heels are in Maryland preparing to play the Terrapins Sunday afternoon. Due to about two feet of snowfall in the area, Carolina wasn’t able to travel to the gym to practice. Instead, the Heels had to settle for a walkthrough in their hotel.

Practice is vital for the young Tar Heel squad, especially when you’re preparing to go up against skilled Maryland team. Remember Greivis Vasquez? He lit up last year’s national championship Tar Heel squad with 35 points on his way to a triple-double. The bad news for Carolina is he’s playing on Sunday.

Maryland officials still plan for the game to start on schedule. The Heels and Terrapins will tip-off at 2 p.m. You can listen to our pre-game coverage starting at noon with Countdown To Tip-Off.
