Price Wants Limits On Corporate Campaigning

Congressman David Price thinks something must be done about corporate influence in politics.

Following the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision making corporate spending protected speech, Price felt the need to strengthen existing legal limits.  After all, he was the lead sponsor of the 2002 “Stand By Your Ad” legislation.  This year’s model is being called “Stand By Every Ad”.  Price is part of the Congressional committee eyeing legislative antidotes to the decision in Citizens United vs. FEC.

Price also devoted a lot of effort trying to sell the health care bill that got hung up in the Senate.  He says such legislation is long overdue.

With the recent election of Senator Scott Brown from Massachusetts, the Democrats no longer have enough votes to defeat a filibuster.
